Heirloom Varieties Currently In Production

  Aunt Ruby's German Green
Heirloom beefsteak variety from Ruby Arnold of Greeneville, Tennessee who passed away in 1997. Slightly flattened, 1 lb. fruit that ripens to a pale greenish-yellow ("lime jello green") with a slight pink blush that extends to the inside. Superb, fruity sweet and slightly spicy taste.

  Chadwick Cherry
Possibly the best overall cherry tomato around. Named after the late master gardener, Alan Chadwick, originator of the biointensive method of gardening. Flavorful, 1-inch, red fruits excellent for salads and snacks.

  Cherokee Purple
Tomatoes have a sweet rich flavor and turn deep pink with purplish tint and green shoulders. Grown over 100 years ago by the Cherokee Indians. A heirloom variety from Tennessee, USA.

Juane Flamme — One of our Favorites!
An old French variety. A fabulous fresh-eating tomato with an explosive, intense flavor that shines through any salad dressing with ease. The outer walls are thick and meaty, with just enough juice to provide a full-bodied, citrus-like flavor that surprises all who try it for the first time. The yellow-orange skin yields to beautiful red-mottled flesh inside. Excellent for fresh salads, but it reaches its full potential as a drying tomato.

  Mortgage Lifter
An improved version of the famous classic. 10-14 oz. luscious, meaty, dusky pink tomatoes with few seeds and are the perfect sandwich tomato all summer long. In the 1940s, "Radiator Charlie" sold seedlings for $1 each and paid off his $6,000 mortgage!

  Riesentraube (REE-zehn-TROU-beh)
The name of this heirloom variety from East Germany means "giant bunch of grapes." These excellent flavored cherries are borne in bunches of 20-35 small, oval, red fruits with pointed ends.

  Russian Persimmon
One pound yellowish-orange tomatoes. The flavor is also outstanding, with significantly more acid than in most yellow tomatoes. Excellent for salads and sandwiches. An heirloom variety from Russia.

  Wild Galapagos
This is one of two wild tomato species endemic to the Galapagos. This small grape sized yellow-orange tomato was found growing right along the seafront, just feet from the ocean in rocky, exposed and in almost soilless conditions. The fruit is intensely sweet, salty and complex.
